 Shayne Highlight of the Year! - Competition

The year is drawing to close, which means it will soon be 2010 – a year that promises to be full of excitement for Shayne fans. In the meantime, we want to know your Shayne highlight of 2009!
Maybe it was seeing Shayne perform at the Marquee club in June, or perhaps you got to meet the man himself somewhere this year? Just leave a post in this thread telling us all about it and our favourite entries will receive a signed picture from Shayne.

The Ustream on twitter was pretty amazing. Got all the fans buzzing about his come back as well as gaining loads of new fans. People saw how nice he really is 
Next has to be the Shayne protest we did in Manchester. Was so proud to be apart of that day. Really hope we made people think and did Shayne proud

I think the highlight this year was finally getting Shayne on Twitter! It's amazing that social networking site because it gives a chance for singers like Shayne to get closer to their fans!
Secondly (even though I wasn't there) it has to be the Tell Him protest! Watching that really did show the kind dedicated and supportive fans that Shayne actually has!
Really can't wait for 2010 though with the new album; fingers crossed another tour aswell!!!

My Highlight this year of Shayne would have to be the Ustream. It was preety amasing and we all got to chat with Shayne he did it twice or so and the whole place was buzzing! It's great when we hear from him on twitter he tells us what he's upto which is nice to know!
Another highlight for me was being added by Shayne on twitter,I was never expecting it at all! So Chufted!
Seeing him in The Marquee Cork was something else!
It was slightly different,a more casual approach to his Breathless tour as there were no dancers and not a whole load of costume changes just Shayne and his Beautiful voice! They are my main highlights from this year!
I'm so *Excited* about his new album coming out in the new year,and can't wait to see him back on the stage performing live! Gonna be a great year for Shayne fans all around the world! X

Ok i have two
First one
Meeting Shayne in Cork in Feb
Normaly arund febuary, people who perform at the marquee come down aorund Feb, for interviews and all that jazz lol
Me and my friend headed up to town on the 10.30 bus, we got to the bordway walk at 11.00, we missed Shayne going in, but he came back out at about 12.30.
He signed autographs and we then walked down the road with him 2 the 2fm booth bus thingy, Paul baught 4 people on2 the bus, including myself ( i was dead happy )We were asked questions, like what do we like about Shayne, Whats aout fav song, vote on a song 2 play ( breathless won )and we all got a hug We then walked bakc to the bordway walk and got phots, got a hug and kiss, and an autograph, it was such a good day..

Shayne Gig-June 19/6/09
Met Shayne at airport with the girlies.
It was rushed, but was still very good, and we left the airport with smiles on our faces  
Me and a few people headed 2 the marquee and waited for hours! Managed 2 get front row!! It was a good laugh waiting 4 Shayne 2 come on, me and my friend Niamh got way 2 hyper and saw a teacher from our school ( kinda strage seeing a teacher at a gig lol ) Shayne came on, and he got a fantastic recpition..It was a strip down of the breathless tour, no dancers, and he changed his shirt once, it was suhc an enjoyable gig, and his version of "one" along with the fantastic Phebe Edwards, blew me away. I think he should do it on his next tour. The gig was short, but out of this world. Headed bakc 2 a hotle with all the girlies for a drink.
Next day we looked 4 Shayne but no sign, we jsy relaxed and looked at videos and pics
They are my highlights of 2009!!
P.S cant beleave 2009 is over, gonna be strage seeing 2010 on car regestrations lol

Good to read that we will have something to look forward to in 2010. Very sparse year in regards to highlights as he only did one gig and that was in Ireland!  x

well there wasn't many chances of seeing shayne in 2009 sooo my favourite shayne highlights of 2009 was the Ustream session in the summer. that was amazing, it was the 1st time all us fans were chatting together, shayne didn't come on for long but a lot of us were still sat there chatting for about 3 days afterwards non stop, if shayne had heard the convos goin he would have definitely thought we were nuts, if he doesnt think that already lol
another shayne highlight of 2009 i wanna mention was actually making a fan video for him, for his birthday. me, joe (joe280) n peter (petermikeman) did ours together, we wrote a script n each did our own sections to put together in a video as we couldnt meet up to do it. but it was soooo much fun, never realised how hard it is to talk into a camera without laughin at urself lol i dont know how shayne does it in his video blogs lol. the final product brought a tear to my eye cos it showed how close we were as friends, friends that were brought together only cos of shayne n i'll always be thankful for that.

My Shayne highlight this year would certainly have to be the marquee in June. That day was just AMAZING! We were lucky enough to meet Shayne that day before the show. Seeing Shayne on the stage singing without the big set or costume changes was brillant. It just felt like a more relaxed version of the breathless tour. Was amazing to see Shayne sing 'ONE'.
Also the Ustream on Twitter was soooo good! It showed how nice Shayne is.

Wow, 2008 is nearly at an end! Whilst it didn't bring a new album, for me personally to say it has been a very Shayne focused year would be an understatement!
This January I helped form the Shayne fansite "Tell Him" whose intention was to highlight to Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and the whole world, just what a star Shayne is. Did we succeed? Well we certainly gave it our best shot!
Activities included the creation of a Facebook profile and group comprising of over 1,500 members! Not bad considering it was unofficial with only self promotion! From that we started an online petition, promoted the DJ Freestyle Steve and Shayne U Got Me So Remix download, ran promotion-based competitions, gave the fans a Shayne Desktop calendar, supported Wardy Wanderer's fan protest in Manchester, organised a Birthday collection which resulted in a mission to get the presents to him, AND of course, how can we forget, the Tell Him videos!
In order to create these, first of all I had to BUY a video camera and then the additional video editing software. I then had to teach myself to use the camera and how to edit raw footage in a matter of hours. I then travelled to Cork, Ireland for Shayne's Marquee appearance where I not only filmed fans and concert segments, I also got to snatch a few moments on camera with the man himself as I followed him on his Cork adventure. The result was the following video:

I'm grateful to Shayne for allowing me to utilise existing skills and discover new ones in the process. Thanks to Shayne I have also formed friendships with some of the nicest people you could ever hope to meet.

Highlights have been a bit thin on the ground this year! Did hear 'That's My Goal' on Radio One the other day in the decade countdown thingy - first time I've heard Shayne on the radio for 2 years! So a highlight of sorts lol. Only other things I can think of are the various fan made videos (special mention for Tina's Simon Cowell one ) It's been a year of waiting really.
