 Promotional Strap for Shayne's New 2010 Releases

8th Best-Selling Artist of the Last Decade
This is the promotional strap that Shayne Ward's advertising and marketing departments could use when Shayne is about to release his new single and album this year.
It's accurate and impressive.
It's also a very lovely thought that Shayne Ward's name goes down in history. Whenever the Top 10 of anything will be listed from now on, his name will be there as part of the top 10 best selling artists of the last decade.
I dislike the current trend of dissing "winners' songs" and dismissing them and their sales as not worthy. The truth is facts and statistics are facts and statistics and cannot be ignored. A record by Shayne Ward sold 1.1 million in the UK alone, and became the 8th biggest selling song of the last decade. Fact. Nobody was forced to buy it. It just had the best kind of promotion. As did all the other songs sung by artists who have performed on the X-Factor - promotion reaching a huge TV audience and potential music-buying market. Because Black Eyed Peas performed Meet Me Halfway on the X-Factor in 2009, does that mean their sales figures for this song should be dismissed or scoffed at? No. Because Leona Lewis released and performed Bleeding Love on the X-Factor in 2007, does that mean her sales figures for that song should be dismissed or scoffed at? As by doing so, it makes Bleeding Love the equivalent to another "winners song".
I don't mind people having different opinions to me. At the same time, I dislike double standards and hypocrisy. If the dissing is valid for Shayne's music, then it is valid for every other artist who has performed their song on the x-factor.
And everyone forgets that this song wasn't a cover. Is that right? Shayne Ward's That My Goal was original material. But, as always, I am happy to stand corrected if I have my facts wrong.
Ramble over.
Just one final plea to Shayne Ward's advertising and marketing teams: Please use this statistic when launching Shayne this year, and please also include his total record sales to date (whatever they are) - ie x2 UK platimum albums. That way, people will know the truth and will have to sit up and take note.

I certainly think it would be good to remind everyone that Shayne has had TWO platinum albums and sold over one million albums - something that seems to have been forgotten. Am fed up with Shayne being lumped with Steve and Leon saleswise when he has sold 10 x the amount of albums they ever did - plus his total single sales must be approx 1.7 million for UK and Ireland. Shayne has never had the benefit of two appearances on the x factor as well like Leona and Alex got this year (maybe because their albums are not selling as well as expected). Leona's second album has not done well in the US as well - but you never read that in the papers!
When is the promotion starting exactly? If album is due out in March it should be starting around now - Leona's new single got played on the radio 2 months before it came out, and we're 2 months away from March - but still all quiet everywhere. I see another x factor contestant Diana Vickers has a new album and single due out in April, and there have already been press releases about this and promo singles have been sent out I think.

Yes, promotion for Shayne should be starting very soon if it is true that his releases will be in March.
I'm still not convinced that the radios will play his new single unless the record label have (and are willing to place) any influence over them. Shayne may have to make it to number one without any radio play before they start playing him, which is unfair. Alas, the music industry is a harsh one. Full of injustices and mixed-up perceptions based on chart positions rather than sales.
The new year is still very fresh and I suspect people are still nursing hangovers, so let's be patient a bit longer.
Maybe Shayne can put on twitter when we can expect to hear some promo or information. A definite date for a single and album release would make all the fans start buzzing with excitement.

I can't even remember who this is?!
I'm more concerned about Mr Cowell putting all his efforts into Danyl's album and releases this year, even though he didn't win the x-factor or even make it to the final.
Just goes to show that if Shayne Ward had been in Mr Cowell's mentoring group that year, this would read very differently. Ward would be huge all over the world by now. Sad but, I suspect, very true!
